Pignoletto

Locally, it is believed that the name derives from a wine called "Pino Lieto, " originally mentioned by Plinio il Vecchio in his Naturalis Historia. Pignoletto is an ancient native vine common in Romagna and in the province of Bologna, cultivated mostly on the hills but talso in the plain. It is used for the production of sparkling and still wines. The plant basically has a good strength and can adapt to different climatic conditions.
